City Greens Market (CGM) is a nonprofit grocery store in The Grove where you can find local food from your favorite farmers and vendors at affordable prices year-round. We source food from small farmers and local vendors and sell everything at cost to our members. Our mission is to make fresh food more affordable and accessible in our neighborhood, a USDA Food Desert, and build a strong local food system that benefits people, farmers, business owners, the land, and our local economy.
Unlike a regular grocery store, we’re nonprofit, which means we can prioritize things like keeping prices affordable on quality food, serving a wide range of customers, and being a welcoming space for people to gather. We focus on supporting local farmers, serving our members, and building a food system rooted in dignity and justice. Our unique sliding-scale membership ensures more people have access to fresh, affordable food.
We also support the community through programs like Double-Up Food Bucks (Where SNAP/EBT shoppers get $1 for every $1 spent on fresh produce), the Free Shelf (Imperfect but good food is always available, ensuring no waste), Free Soup Fridays, and other exciting community events and hands-on workshops.
