Volunteer opportunities at RMHC include a variety of meaningful, on-site roles. Volunteers support our House locations by assisting at the front desk, restocking supplies, keeping community spaces clean and welcoming, working alongside our culinary team to prepare family meals and stock grab-and-go items, and providing transportation for families to and from area hospitals or local errands. We also offer opportunities in our in-hospital Family Rooms, where volunteers create a warm, supportive environment for guests right inside the hospital.

All volunteer roles require a minimum one-year commitment to a set three-hour shift, either weekly or every other week. To get started, volunteers must complete an application, attend a volunteer information session, participate in an interview for placement, pass a background check, and complete position-specific training.

Volunteers in our House programs must be at least 18 years old. Volunteers in our in-hospital Family Rooms must be 21 or older and complete the hospital’s volunteer requirements in addition to RMHC’s onboarding process.
