Table for Lou offers multiple service-learning programs that provide hands-on experience in community nutrition, food access, and youth engagement.

Monday Youth Cooking Classes
Wednesday Hospital Family Meals

On Mondays, volunteers travel to The Core Collective in Normandy to teach unhoused youth how to prepare simple, nutritious meals. Classes run from 5:00–7:00 PM. Volunteers are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to assist with setup and preparation.

On Wednesdays, volunteers help prepare and serve a hot, buffet-style meal for families staying at the BJC Children’s Hospital Center for Families. Approximately 100 families are served each week. Volunteers arrive at 4:20 PM, begin food preparation shortly after, and serve dinner from 5:00–7:00 PM.
