All graduating students who borrowed a federal and/or Washington University loan(s) will receive communication regarding scheduling their 1-1 exit counseling sessions with the Office of Student Financial Planning.  This process typically begins in January and will proceed throughout the final semester, prior to graduation.

If you are in your final year, please complete the following information ahead of your 1-1 exit session.

  1. Department of Education online exit counseling  (required)
  2. AAMC’s MedLoans® Organizer and Calculator (MLOC)

Individual, in person or Zoom appointments, are available during specific office hours M-F. Prior to your 1-1 exit session, you must complete the Department of Education’s online exit counseling. When identifying the school, please choose Washington University School of Medicine from the dropdown, or G24620. Feel free to bring your completed summary sheet with you to your exit appointment.

Exits are not required for students who have never received a Federal or Washington University loan at the School of Medicine. You may check your student account history on the student financial section of WorkDay to verify if a Federal or university loan disbursement was made to you.

We strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with the financial aid information on the AAMC website in preparation for the individualized, 1-1 session.

If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Student Financial Planning.
