Doctor of Medicine graduates and their guests are invited to attend Thursday’s MD recognition ceremony, at which each MD candidate is recognized, as well as Friday’s all-university ceremony.
Guests visiting from out of town are encouraged to reserve travel and lodging accommodations early. Find information on parking here.
Tickets are required for guests to attend the MD Commencement ceremony. Tickets will be emailed directly to graduating students, who are responsible for sharing the ticket with their guests.
For guests, WashU prohibits all bags, backpacks, and other carriers from being brought into the ceremony with the following exceptions:
- Clear bags, not to exceed 14″ x 14″ x 4″
- Small clutches or purses, not to exceed 4″ x 6″
- Medically necessary bags, including diaper bags

All-University Commencement Ceremony
9 a.m. CT | Francis Olympic Field, WashU Danforth Campus
Doctor of Medicine graduates are encouraged to participate in the university-wide graduation commencement at Francis Olympic Field on the Danforth Campus. Visit the WashU Commencement website for details.
Commencement Festival
11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. CT | Mudd Field, extending to Tisch Park, Danforth Campus
The all-school Commencement Festival immediately follows the morning ceremony. The celebration will include local food and beverage, games, photo opportunities, live entertainment, and will stretch from Mudd Field to Tisch Park on the Danforth Campus.
